Straight Family Reunion - Fri.,Oct. 1 - Mon.,Oct. 4, 2010

October is quickly approaching and the reunion is right around the corner.  Since it is difficult to communicate with everyone individually I have created a page where everyone can go for information, and to post comments and/or suggestions.  Here is a link to the resort if you haven't gotten that information yet.  I'm also including a link with the directions.  The resort is in a rural area so they suggest you use their directions.  We don't want anybody getting lost!

As of right now we have 4 cabins reserved.  #29, 39, 49 and 59, and there will definitely be 30 of us in attendance.  Hoping to add to this number as the date gets closer.

For those who are interested in participating, we are planning the following:

Fri., Oct. 1 - Potluck Supper - We'd like for everyone to bring a dish or two to cabin #39 where we can all get together for a meet and greet and have a nice meal together.  This would also be a good time to talk about everyone's plans for Saturday.  Check in time is 3 p.m.  I'm not sure what everyone's arrival time will be so let's tentatively plan supper for 7 p.m.

Sat., Oct 2  - Thinking Saturday would be a great day to get out and explore the Asheville area.  There are so many things to see and do!  We could discuss a departure time Friday evening for those who are interested in traveling into town.  You will be on your own for breakfast and lunch.  Saturday evening we'd like to do grilled steaks for dinner.  Everyone bring your own steak and potato and Kevin will be the grillmaster!  This will more than likely take place later in the evening. If you like to eat earlier in the evening you will need to make other dinner arrangements.  We will have no set time for this meal, it will be after everyone gets back from Asheville.  We'll do this in cabin #39.

Sun., Oct. 3 -  We are planning a brunch on Sunday around 11 a.m. in cabin #49.  Again we would like everyone who attends to bring a "brunch" dish. 

Sun., Oct. 3 - For our last meal together on Sunday evening we'd like to do a Mexican dinner in cabin #29.  Who makes a mean pot of chili?  That's what we'd like you to bring.  We'd also like to do tacos and burritos with all the fixings.  This will also be a group effort with everyone contributing something to the meal.  We can discuss a time at the morning brunch.

I have made seperate blog entires for each meal. Please go to each one and post what you would like to bring if you will be attending.  Of course if you change your mind later and decide to come just bring whatever you like.  Just want to make sure that we'll have everything we need, and also get a general idea of who is interested in what.

I am so excited to see everyone and I know we are all going to have a wonderful time!  Looking forward to hearing from everyone!
